Villa Vicente is located in the hills just above Canyelles, a small picturesque village in the mountains of Catalunya.
From the front terrace of Villa Vicente you have a panoramic view of the valley where the village is located.
Canyelles features lovely restaturants such as Bar Clasic or La Taberneta, a fairly sized supermarket and a gas station.
Canyelles is located in a valley about 15 minutes by car to the bigger towns Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltru .
The village is often a starting point for beautiful hikes or bike tours to peaks of the mountains surrounding the valley, such as the Puig de l’Àliga (358m) and the Puig del Montgròs (278m).
If you are looking for a little more adventure, you can also climb the sides of the Penya de l’Escofet withing the Parc d’Olèrdola.
The most iconic feature of the village is its 15th century Castle. The castle was built as a defence for the route connecting the sea to the villages in the mountains. Unfortunately the interior cannot be visited, as the castle is currently private property.
Nevertheless, it is definitely worth to view the castle from the outside when you are taking a walk through the village.
When you walk through the streets of the village, you might encounter the smell of freshly baked bread. Canyelles is known for its long tradition of baking bread.
When you visit a local panadería be sure to taste the local spongecake, known as coques. Don’t forget the other delicious varieties of local bread however!
